While making Jack’s Prince Charming costume last year, I gave up on life. Maybe not life, but I quit sewing for a while.
So, I wasn’t exactly looking into making a costume this year. I tried to talk Jack into a dragon costume from Old Navy. Or possibly a knight costume.
But, this kid loves robots. So, it made sense to make him become a robot.
Reid made the entire costume. The only thing I did was supply the hot glue gun.
Here are some beginning pictures.
The finished outfit on Halloween night!
It’s a good thing Reid’s parents were with us. It took all four of us to make this work. One person to hold his bucket, one to hold his head, and two to hold his hands to make sure he didn’t fall over. And, we took turns knocking on the door for him because he couldn’t get up the step in his costume.
He got a lot of attention and we had a lot of laughs at his expense, so it was a successful night!
When we got home, we drank cider and Jack handed out candy. I think Jack may have had more fun handing out candy than getting it. Not sure. Regardless, he had a great night.
Btw, after dinner, we all ate some of these cookies Reid’s mom brought over.
We were talking and didn’t realize how many Jack ate. Add that with the excitement of trick-or-treating, some apple cider, and a 2 hour nap earlier, and he was still wide awake at 10PM!!
Hope everyone had a great Halloween!
