Time out and Oreos

March 3, 2011

1. This is homeboy in timeout for the first time.

I planned to start times outs a while back, but never did it because I wasn’t ready. With Jack being almost two, it’s time. And yesterday, Mr. Grumpy Pants who didn’t have a nap the day before, was pushing all the wrong buttons.

His main offense was taking the dish soap and pouring it in other random plastic containers.

Off to the red rug he went.

I only had to put him back twice during the 2 minutes.

Then, Jack was free to leave. And went straight back to get more soap and start pouring it out.

And off he went back to the red rug.

He was angry, but stayed. Then, he used his tiny fingers to pry the outlet cover out! And then it was fun. So, we need to find a better place for time out.

2. I made 146 oreo pops today.

I still need to dip them in almond bark. I don’t have a food processor, but thankfully, a handheld mixer did the trick.

I didn’t know what oreo balls were til Cammie made them a few Christmases ago and they’re AMAZING!

Visit Bakerella’s site for the recipe. And other treats.

the end.

    a. oreo balls are yummy – but oh so rich!! I can only handle eating 1
    b. oh yes, the time outs. we know them all TOO well!! it’s pretty funny now b/c every once in a while, i’ll catch B putting his animals in “time out”. We make him stand facing the wall w/ his hands on it. he HATES it.
    c. keep it up – be consistent – it’s hard but you’re a good mommy for teaching/instructing him discipline at a young age.
