The Life of Jack Ryan: almost 14 months

* The first question I get about him lately is about him walking. He’s not walking yet. He could if he really wanted to, but I think he’s a little scared.

* He pushes the gay lion, who shall be referred to as Kurt from now on, all around the house.

* Jack is still loving to eat and wishes he could eat all day long. I’d like to say breakfast is a balance, but it’s all about bananas. He eats two bananas for breakfast because he pushes everything away and even mutters something that I think sounds like “nananananas.” Although, if I offered him cheese at breakfast, he’d eat it.

* The throwing things out of annoyance is becoming less and less. I think it has more to do with the fact that he can’t talk to us and say “Hey, you, I’m really upset right now.”

* He can’t stand for his hands to be dirty. When you get him out of the high chair, he holds his hands up very daintily til they’re washed at the sink.

* Talking comes in waves. He’ll go for a couple days without talking, then won’t stop for another couple days.

* Loves being in the walker to follow us around.

* Jack still thinks Chewbacca is his bff, but I’m not sure the feeling is mutual.

* Still takes at least two naps a day, most of the time he doesn’t put up a fight.

* Balls are his favorite type of toy. He’s gotten pretty good at throwing, which is surprising considering he has us for parents.

* Says “dada” all the time, especially when he’s happy, but says “mama” when he’s upset.

I love this kid! 14 months (almost 15) was Zoë’s magic “I’m walking” number. It started as a mistake at my cousin’s house…then she realized what she could do and immediately started running…no kidding. Reading this reminded me that we, too, went through ALL of those stages you wrote about. Today is Zoë’s 2 year birthday…yes, Ashley, it happens fast! I’m glad you are documenting all of these little things!!!
