Sunny Sunday

February 21, 2010

Sunday afternoons like today were made for the park! Turns out, we’re not the only ones that think this way because it was crowded, but we found a swing! Reid wanted the chance to see Jack at the park in person since he saw the pictures from Friday.

I know everyone’s dying to see the pictures we took today since they look almost the same as the others. Don’t worry, here are a few: (we only took about 60 pictures today, so we’re cutting back…)

This one is almost exactly like some from the other day, but different clothes and background, haha

I have to post this picture because out of all the faces Jack makes, this one occurs most often. This is his “what’s over there” face or his “where’s Chewy going” face.

Jack may not be afraid to fly high in the swing, but he is afraid of geese! We took him over to the little lake near the park to “play” with the geese. Not a good idea. He hated them.

He didn’t really have a reaction for the slide, so we’ll stick to the swing.

Windy, sunny, and a sleepy baby– a perfect photo op, right?

In other news…

get ready…

it’s big…

not pregnancy big…

but still big…

We may have possibly, sort of, kind of, maybe found a church home. I’m scared to say it, as if it’s going to spook it or something.

If this is true, this will mean that after 3.5 years of marriage, we’ll actually have found a church.

Talking with Lori today, she mentioned Church of the Highland’s Riverchase campus because it’s really close to us and it’s the same teaching as the main campus (via satellite). We like Church of the Highlands, but never could commit to it because we seemed unsure of it and the drive it would take us.

Somewhat on a whim, we went tonight and really liked it. Well, what we saw of it, haha. Jack didn’t take a nap after the park like we were thinking he would, so by 6 pm he was a mess. As soon as the sermon started his number flashed on the screen. It was not a pretty sight– he’d been crying for a while, wouldn’t take a bottle, and nothing calmed him down. It took even me a while to settle him down, so we headed home. But we’ll be back next week, making sure Jack takes a nap. We might even bring him in his pajamas.

So, since we think this is where we’ll be going, I want to join a group and meet people, especially other moms in the area. There are a ton of groups, so I made my choices of ones I’ll visit by Facebooking the leaders. Does that make me weird? Just being honest. There’s a playgroup that meets tomorrow morning that we might go to. I’m a little nervous about calling and showing up out of the blue, but you gotta start somewhere, right?

I know a couple of people who go there (or one of the churches) on Sunday nights since we don’t have a Sunday PM service, and they all seem to like it. Congrats!

i hope the church is a good fit. i’m happy for you!!
it’s hard to believe the weather is nice enough to be out at the park. I’m in Kansas and it’s butt cold. I hear Denver has snow. No sign of spring for us for awhile.
