MeMaw Gets Two Tickets
Just a week ago while I was driving Deena and Jordan around, Deena mentioned how she forgot I drove like a MeMaw. I informed her that my goal was to go as long as possible without getting a ticket. Also, I’m crazy afraid of car wrecks.
My clean record is gone. Long gone.
Last Thursday was Whitney’s bachelorette party at the beach. This in itself is quite a story that may never be told on here. I’ll leave it at this- I had a panic attack at a redneck bar, Florabama. I will refer to this place as my version of hell. Oh it was bad. Very bad. I don’t appreciate drunk men touching me.
We got back to the beach house around 2 am. I decided I’d rather go back to my parents house in Daphne to stay with Reid for the night that spend the night with the girls. Kristen was going to follow me in her car since it was late.
I’m not good at back roads late at night in the fog. I don’t really know the actual names of the roads, I just look at the surrounding. Needless to say, we got lost. Kristen made the decision for us to turn around and start all over again.
I’m almost at my last turn off when we both get pulled over. The cop blocked the lane so neither of us could pass. By this point it’s 3 am. I lost it. I cried the hardest I’ve cried in a long time. I was so exhausted and all I wanted to do was be at my parents house! I’m in my parent’s car so I had to call my Mom at THREE A.M. to ask where the insurance card was.
Thirty minutes and four tickets later, Kristen and I are free to head home. We both got tickets for speeding. She got a ticket for not wearing her glasses and I got one for following too close, which is not true.
I get home at four. Both parents are up and let me cry for a while. Then they start laughing. I finally got in bed with Reid and just mention some tickets. Of course, he wanted me to explain my night. So, I finally went to bed at 5 a.m. getting up at 10 for the bridal luncheon.
PS: Kristen and I were the only two not to drink that night! Why did we get punished?!
