I haven’t blogged in a long while because I’ve been busy. Ok, that’s not really true. But I have been watching a lot of movies.
The Lake House
Ashley: What did I just watch? I’m still confused. In a word: boo!
Reid: I think it was trying to be clever and mysterious. It ended up being stupid. Why were they not freaked out about writing to someone in the future/past? I’m pretty sure I would’ve been. Luckily I was doped on medication when I watched this.
Blades of Glory
Ashley: Zoolander on ice. I laughed so therefore I liked it.
Reid: It was no Zoolander. I laughed a few times but will never watch it again if that tells you anything.
Juno
Ashley: Loved it. Good characters. I cried.
Reid: I wasn’t invited.
Once
Ashley: Beautiful. I cried again. Not sure why, though. But I loved it. Will own soundtrack soon.
Reid: By far the best movie I’ve seen in a long time. A story written around music is hard to pull off, but when it succeeds… Plus I love the fact that the characters have no names. (Guy and Girl) Very very very good film.
JFK
Ashley: Interesting, even if it’s not all true. I saw the actual shooting footage for the first time.
Reid: Always a favorite of mine. I tried to warn Ashley about the actual footage. It’s a bit shocking. I remember the first time I saw it, I was not ready for it either. As far as the conspiracy goes, it’s amazing what you can come up with if you twist the truth just a tiny bit. Still, a great movie.
One Flew Over The Cuckoo’s Nest
Ashley: It went in stages: interesting, funny, weird, sad, depressing…and then the ending. Overall, good.
Reid: I generally liked it and I’m glad I can cross it off my ‘Best Pictures seen’ list. Great character development but the ending did leave me a bit empty. I’m still not quite sure how it ranks with the best films of all time. I would definitely watch it again.
We’ve also been watching Flight of the Conchords (Season 1), The Office (Season 3), and the Biggest Loser. Are we never going to resolve the strike?

jfk=very interesting. if only you knew all the conspiracy theories still floating around here in dallas… it’s crazy!
i drive down elm street everyday and right over jfk’s big X where he was killed in the middle of the road. some people are spooked and will literally NOT drive over the X. it’s pretty ridiculous… crazy people swerving all over the place.
the lake house - will never see.
blades - not worth the time.
juno - super good, but not great.
once - awesome. i have the soundtrack if you want a copy. i also have their studio album. both are awesome.
jfk - long, but really good.
one flew - you’re right, lots of emotions. i think that automatically makes it great.
ginger- i would probably be one of those people that would swerve not to drive over it, haha! it creeps me out a little. you’re so brave!
Do you have extra hours in a day that I don’t know about…how can you possibly watch this many movies? Please share…i am intrigued!
