Kitchen Experiences
We’ve been married for a little over a year now and have experienced many “adventures”together. And by “adventures” I mean little mishaps in the kitchen. Let’s not forget the grease fire and the dishwasher mistake.
My goal for yesterday was to simply find just the right mulling spice for making apple cider. There were a few obstacles in this endeavor, such as not knowing where to exactly look for this, what it looks like, and what it’s technically called. I took off to Publix where I dod ged people with large carts hunting for my prize. An hour later I gave up. Then headed to two other stores. I finally found exactly what I needed.
Once at home I gathered up the needed materials and put together the aspired apple cider. This is where trouble set in. For some crazy reason I thought I had used the crock pot on the stove before. (Hours later I realized I had remembered wrong.) I sat the pretty red CERAMIC crock pot on the oven eye and proceeded to pour the apple cider.
Then I smelled something odd and unpleasant. Then I noticed the crock pot was oozing some type of liquid. Was it melting? Where was this liquid coming from!? So I put on the oven mits quickly and picked up the crockpot. I was only able to pick up the top part of the crock pot b/c it was no longer in one piece.
Suddenly, our kitchen was overflowing with apple cider. I yelled for Reid to come help, then burst into tears. A day long journey of making this apple cider and I just ruined it all AND made a huge mess in our clean kitchen.
We managed the disaster so we could get to watching the football game with Casey, Sheena and JT. I did eventually make the cider and all was well.
Later on in the night we heard a crash from the kitchen. As we rushed in there, we saw that Chewbacca had knocked off one of the Christmas mugs from the dining table. Too much drama in the kitchen for one night!

WOW! What an adventure! I’ve never heard of a crock pot breaking like that. Cute last pic.
