Climb every mountain

Thursday and Friday were spent hiking. Today (Saturday) I can barely move my legs. We hiked 3 miles up the mountain, which really doesn’t sound like too much, but with backpacks on and cold weather, oh and treacherous rocks…it’s a lot. We both had a hard time with our heart rates getting high on the way up. We had to take lots of breaks. But we did it!

We felt extremely proud of ourselves. And awesome. On the way back down we met a few people who couldn’t believe we had spent the night on top of the mountain. Oh yeah, we’re so hardcore. You better believe it!

Btw, it gets dark early and so you’re just stuck in the tent. We played Phase10 (Reid kicked my booty!) and ate dried bananas w/ trail mix. We fell asleep at 8 pm, needless to say.

All ready to start! Notice my Wicked book in the side, haha!

This picture looks fake!

The hardcore hikers together:

Notice the profile of the mountain looks like that of an old man…get it:: Grandfather Mountain

On top of the mountain Friday morning:

“x” marks the spot

This was probably after Reid said we had two more miles to go

For the rest of our camping pictures go here.
