Last year we went to North Carolina to visit Cammie, Dustin, and Kilee. We spent one of those days hiking at Grandfather Mountain. The hike was challenging yet beautiful. We didn’t make it as far as wanted to because we didn’t realize how steep some parts were and how long it would take us.

Now we’re back again (w/ Lori this time) visiting Cammie, Dustin, Kilee AND Carter. This year (or today, rather) Reid and I will be hiking/camping at Grandfather mountain today and tomorrow so we can get to the specific places we wanted to get to last year.

I will admit that I’m a bit nervous b/c last year I seemed to have a harder time than Reid with the hike. BUT there are a few factors that went into that– the new shoes I hadn’t broken in yet and well, I weighed more then. Since I’ve lost weight I’ve had much better balance so that should help. And my shoes are well broken in. Oh, and my endurance is way better now, too.

Yesterday we relaxed around the house, shopped and ate at Target, toured Dustin’s new office, enjoyed coffee, ate candy, and dressed up.

We were Lily and James Potter, Harry’s parents. We actually won honorable mention at the neighborhood costume contest (we would have won, but it was for kids…)
