Black Beans and Chocolate

I’m always looking for new recipes and I’m almost always willing to try something new, especially if it’s low calories/low fat.

I found a recipe a while back called Black Bean Brownies. I came across it yesterday and noticed I had all the ingredients on hand so decided to give it a try. Anything that’s a low-calorie chocolate/or-anything-sweet substitute is welcome in my kitchen (I made fake rice cripsy treats last week and they were really good).

Well, maybe I shouldn’t have wasted my time because these brownies were GROSS. I thought with all the other ingredients you wouldn’t taste the beans, but that was not the case. I couldn’t even swallow it. Now they’re in my trashcan.

However, I did make brownies last week that were good– I mixed brownie mix with a can of pumpkin and baked it; it turned out like fudge. Maybe I’ll stick with this recipe for my chocolate fix.

Okay… Now, I’m with you on the fact that most healthy things are not pure disgusting. But there are some things that shouldn’t be put together. For instance, Mashed Potatoes, corn, chicken, and gravy, all beautifully good things. But when put together in a bowl and sold for 6 bucks at KFC? Nope, not good. Cheese? Good. Waffles? Extra good. Together? Nope, combination just doesn’t work out.

I don’t know though….when I was a kid, and I still do it now- I would mix my corn and mashed potatoes together.
but yeah, kfc took it too far.
