Time for a break…

funny1.jpg*this picture is a year old…and i don’t really look like this, Reid took it with a special lense…it just describes how i feel.

That is for sure! I don’t think I’ve ever needed a spring break more than I do right now.

My spring break officially started yesterday at 12:20. So far I have celebrated this with using a coupon for free Chik-fil-a, slept in this morning then ate whatever I wanted for breakfast, and used money that my mom sent me at a Thrift Boutique (I got a Banana Republic skirt; pinstripe capris, a dressy cardigan and button down from Old Navy, JCrew khakis for $21!). I thought about buying shoes, but decided that I needed clothes that actually fit me more shoes.

I did my first sermon yesterday morning. Putting it together was not a fun process- many, many tears were shed. There was more pressure involved than I thought I could handle. BUT I did get my evaluation forms back and here are the results from my peers:

Strengths:
*Funny *Interesting *Good points *Delivery *Energetic *Knew the passage thoroughly

Weaknesses:
*Talked too fast *Rearrange points and illustrations *Said “um”

If those were my weaknesses, I’m not that upset over it. Honestly, I was very concerned with portraying the text in the correct context– which my professor assured me that I did. I know he would tell me if I didn’t b/c I’ve watched him do that for someone else.

My goals for spring break:
-Watch The Holiday
-Finish season 4 of 24 - DONE
-Complete lots of big assignments
-Take two days off of work
-Pack some boxes (we’re moving a building over in April)
-Sleep late, of course
-Drink a real Dr. Pepper
-Sit at Barnes and Noble for hours just looking at magazines
-Get a new job (I might be half-way there…more on that later)

Yep, thats pretty much about it.

Btw, I will have to say that Reid deserves a treat after this week. I have not been very much fun to live with– I’ve given up on school and cried pretty much every night. He’s had to calm me down lots of times. Also, he cleaned the kitchen yesterday — which it was a disaster, I was dreading it so much, but he did it for me! So maybe I can find a new Star Wars action figure to reward him.

  1. HAPPY SPRING BREAK!!!

  2. Hey! I have a really, really dumb and girly question. Since I’m pretty sure any walls of a church/faith gathering may fall when Josh and I walk in, I’m feeling a little uneasy about Easter at Mars Hill. What can I get away with wearing? I know that sounds dumb, and Josh made fun of me when I asked him, but I thought you may understand the girl’s perspective. Let me know. And telling me I’m dumb is a perfectly acceptable answer.

  3. Hey! Its not a dumb question at all- I would be asking too if I had never been there. Even though its Easter and everything, you can still wear jeans. I’m sure Reid will wear jeans and a polo.
I may wear nice pants and a plain shirt. I’m sure there will be some dressed up in dresses and ties, but most will be casually dressed.

And I’m sure the walls will NOT fall down. If we can walk in there, I’m sure you guys can too. I’m so sure that you’ll be happy you came to Mars Hill for Easter- we’ve made it our tradition to go to Mobile for Easter every year just so we can to Mars Hill.

Hope that helps you out! :)
